You don't have to go THAT slowly!

It started as a simple hack for speedrunners, now aims to be the greatest toy box Portal 2 Speedrunning Community could ever receive. Portal 2 Speedrun Mod is a modification that alters the way you run through the default Portal 2 campaign. Not only it removes majority of cutscenes and downsides, making the game a lot more entertaining to speedrun, but also introduces several game-changing modes, giving a fresh experience into your favourite test chambers, allowing you to enjoy them in a new unique way.

Normal mode

The main and original mode of Speedrun Mod. It's also a base to all other modes.

Most of the game's downtime is removed or shortened (like elevators, doors etc.)
Most of cutscenes were removed or shortened (like Tube Ride, Core etc.)

Celeste 2

A bunch of berries were scattered around Aperture. Dash your way through test chambers to collect them all!

Celeste-like movement added on top of current one (dash, wave dash, wallclimb and many more).
Certain test chambers were modified in order to fit into the gameplay/teach mode's mechanics.
125 unique collectable berries hidden all around the levels:
- Red Berries - difficult to find or difficult to get... sometimes both, sometimes none.
- Quantum Berries - they don't seem to like portals...
- Golden Berries - no.
Special ending allowing you to easily identify and collect berries you missed.

It is recommended to know the source material (Celeste) before playing the mod.

fog% (beta)

Put your muscle memory into test. Can you run the game with limited sight?

Dense fog makes you unable to see distant areas.
If you don't move for 20 seconds, you can see through fog until you move again.
Some say this mode will never exit beta testing...

Installation guide

Make sure you have original game (Portal 2, duh) installed on Steam.
Download the newest release from the link available above.
Unzip Portal 2 Speedrun Mod folder into sourcemods directory.
(its default location is Steam/steamapps/sourcemods/).
Restart Steam.
A new game, called "Portal 2 Speedrun Mod" should appear in your library.

"janky hack mate!"

Keep in mind that this mod is a compilation of dirty hacks that this poor 2011 engine was not prepared for. In case the game crashes or bugs itself in unexplainable way, try one of these things:

Launching the main game, then the mod
Not using any other extensions (like SAR, for instance) because they might not like each other
Updating other extensions (like SAR), because they might be the one causing trouble
Taking a hot bath and ~~at least 30 minutes of walk in fresh air~~#stayathome
committing a jump from a ground floor window

If none of these things work, seek help in P2SR Discord server.
